Charity Watch: Modest Needs

Modest Needs has a special place in my heart because, like the Blogathon, it was the child of one person with a hair-brained idea to do good using the web. Keith Taylor started MN as an "experiment in giving"; a place where people could ask for short-term financial assistance, without further obligation. With tremendous support from the web community, the organization has come a long way. Whenever I get cynical, I think of Keith.
