From the Spousal Unit:

Marfan Life is blogging (natch!) for the National Marfan Foundation (sponsor link). Marfan Syndrome is a genetic disorder, and it just so happens that the gene in question, fibrillin-1, was discovered (pdf!) by Prof Lynn Sakai -- whose lab is just down the hall from me at the Shriner's research center (for the curious, I work with Peter Hurlin). Lynn was also closely involved in the work that tied fibrillin mutations to Marfan Syndrome. There's a good brief explanation of the role of fibrillin in MS here.

Just thought I'd share, since the 'thon is all about connections between people. (For the record, Lynn's a sweetheart and has been very kind to this junior researcher.)
